How you can use Ownly

Private use starts with an automatically created anonymous session. We process the vehicle, listing URL or VIN, ownership assumptions, optional budget and insurance-profile ranges, and the technical/session, IP-address, device, and log metadata needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the analysis. Private does not mean that no data is processed.

Registered free users currently use Google sign-in. Plus members may store analyses, comparisons, purchase records, and any existing subscription-period information across devices. We store contact-form messages when you send them.

Service providers

Supabase provides authentication and database services; Vercel hosts and logs the app; Google provides the active sign-in option; Stripe processes payment, customer, subscription, and billing-portal information; OpenAI supports bounded vehicle research and comparison interpretation; and NHTSA, EPA, listing pages, and other public sources may provide vehicle information. Ownly does not receive or store your full payment-card number.

How we use and share information

We use information to provide an analysis, save work you ask us to save, process Plus billing, protect the service, respond to support requests, and understand product reliability in aggregated form. We do not sell or share identifiable or sensitive personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell individual financial, insurance, credit, location, or search-history information.

We disclose information to the providers above only as needed to operate Ownly, when required by law, or to protect users and the service. We may use sufficiently aggregated, de-identified, privacy-reviewed product trends for service improvement or future business insights.

Retention, security, and choices

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected, including account administration, security, legal obligations, disputes, and product support. We do not promise an automatic 90-day deletion. Our current target is to keep support records for up to 24 months, subject to the circumstances and legal obligations.

You may use Ownly without creating an account or providing your name, email, or social login, avoid optional inputs, provide a real insurance quote instead of an estimate, cancel an existing Plus subscription in Stripe’s billing portal, and ask for access, correction, or deletion assistance through Contact. Choose Privacy; we generally aim to respond within about 30 days, subject to identity verification and applicable law. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no online system is completely secure.
